You probably have a few questions you'd like answered...

Can't find the answer to your question here? Fear not! Just drop us a line on our contact page and we'll get right on it.

  • Q. How old do you need to be to work for schuh?

Not to get all legal eagle on you but by law and for insurance purposes, we need you to be 16 and in possession of a National Insurance/PPS/Social Security number, so once you’ve reached your 16th birthday and received this, we’ll be delighted to receive your application.

  • Q. How do I apply to work in one of your stores?

When a vacancy pops up in one of our stores, it will be advertised on our website where you can complete an application form online. Top tip – make your application interesting! If you want to stand out, show us your passion and personality and you have a much better chance of making it to an interview.

  • Q. I'm really interested in becoming a Footwear Buyer

The $64 million question! We have a pretty small Buying team and, with it being such a lusted after job, vacancies are very few and far between. We’re big on promoting from within so any Buying roles that do come up are always advertised internally first. Therefore, your best route in is to get a job with us in store! We’re not necessarily looking for people who’ve studied fashion or buying; it’s more about living and breathing and being obsessed with fashion and shoes! So if you build your outfits from the feet up, you could be our next big thing.

  • Q. How do I apply for other jobs at schuh HQ in Livingston?

Schuh Head Office is in Livingston (half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh – geography lesson over) and covers everything from Customer Experience to Ecommerce, IT to Marketing and every other function you can expect at a Head Office. We don’t tend to have many vacancies but any we do have will appear in our ‘vacancies’ section. See anything you fancy? Apply online or upload your CV tellings us why YOU are schuh.

  • Q. Do schuh offer work placements to students?

If only we could! The thing is, we have lots of students working for us already and many of them look for placements. We think it’s only fair that they get the spaces we have.
